I’ve been meditating on most mornings for about a month now. I sit up straight in a chair, close my eyes, and just breathe for 15 minutes. Not as a spiritual exercise, but as a mental one. And I’m amazed at the difference it makes.
I think everyone will have their own, internal realizations once they start doing this regularly, and obviously yours will be different than mine, but for me the main thing it’s shown me is how much I confuse the external with the internal, and vice versa.
So much of what I perceive to be on the outside is actually happening on the inside. I don’t think we truly understand how much our own perception of the world can help or hurt us. I’m beginning to understand that the world we live in is very much a personal choice, as it depends on how we choose to perceive that world.
