My best friend, the brother I never had. Tested positive August 12, was not vaccinated. Battled at home for a few days before having to go to the ER at South Baldwin. Admitted and put on 60ltrs of O2. Admitted into ICU for a couple weeks, O2 got better and he went back to a reg room.

O2 got worse, back to ICU until Sunday Sept 19 when I got the call that they were putting him on a ventilator. Heart rate over 90, bp 180/120, 45-55 breaths per minute. He was going to die in he wasn’t vented PERIOD. Body could deal with those stats much longer.

1 to 2 times daily they lowered the vent from 75-65-55-45 and then he came off after 4 days.

O2 continues to improve. Last count? 7 liters yesterday. The last few days I have been getting my usual comical texts. Yippee, my boy is coming back to life!! This morning I get awakened by a text that said “TODAY, I HAVE STOOD UP ON MY FEET TWICE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN WEEKS”. My response was to try the floor next time, it might be easier.

This is the God part. I will take nothing away from the doctors and nurses. What an outstanding group of people that did what they needed to do and we’re trained to do. At the time I got the text about him being vented, I had just finished my communion and giving speeches at church. My communion speech was about a book I am reading on prayer. The author said that sometimes Gods will isn’t done because no one prayed for it to be done. Our Father wants everyone to reside in Heaven after passing away, but that won’t happen if we don’t pray and ask for forgiveness and ask Jesus to come into our lives. So God’s will isn’t always what happens. I knew this, but I needed to be reminded.
As I drove to South Baldwin, I prayed specifically for what I wanted, capable dr’s, the right equipment, the right environment, my friend to have enough strength left to accept the treatment and for all of us to have the peace and comfort we needed to be patient and allow his will to be done.

I know, tldr. I hope someone that needed to read it did tho. Someone with family that needs prayer or even someone that just needs to pray.

I will be traveling all day back to Bama from San Fran. If anyone has any questions about the last part of my post, please send me a dm. I’m not a Bible thumper, I just love God and I love people.

I would also like to thank @stevesawbone He answered my dm’s, he talked me through what would and could happen. He helped A LOT. Thank you sir! You have no idea what you meant to me, my family and my friends family.

God Bless you guys, all of you.
