Plus-minus is a metric aims at showing how a team performs with a particular player on the court. So it's a summary of the team's net change in score with that player on the court.
Let's take KT Harrell, for instance.
If Auburn outscores its opponent by 8 points with Harrell on the court during his various shifts, then he's +8. It provides a glimpse into how valuable a player is to his team's goal of winning the game rather than his statistical relevance. Points and rebounds are big, yes, but there are players who improve teams without accumulating many shot attempts ... or other counting stats.
So here is the +/- for Auburn's game against UWM the other night:

Mason +11
Lang +9
Canada +8
Granger +6
Harrell +5
Purchase +4
Shamsid-Deen +3 (minutes limited b/c of injury)
