"Information on the Delta variant from several states and other countries indicate that in rare occasions, some vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others," she claimed. "This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendations."

I was listening to a podcast today taking about vaccine antibodies only protecting you for a short time anyway (6 months to a year). Studies are showing it’s shorter than they hoped. In particular Pfizer. That’s why they are pushing for a booster, but you’ll need to keep getting boosters annually for as long as Covid is considered a threat (forever at this rate).

how does moderna compare in respect to that?

It was based on Pfizer. They said Pfizer was 1/3 the strength of Moderna on shot #1. I don’t think any of them will be one and done forever. But this was based on Pfizer internal stuff so I can’t speak to Moderna.

You’re completely wrong. It’s the T cells and B cells that make immunity long lasting, not antibodies. These vaccines will last at least 2-3 years. Only the elderly will get boosters as they don’t get the same immunity from the vaccines.

No, I’m not wrong at all. That’s what I heard. I’m not saying it’s true, it’s what I heard. You don’t know either. That’s the difference between me and you. I don’t claim to.

Then you heard wrong. And yes, I actually do know. I actually listen to scientists. The vaccines are expected to protect from severe disease at a minimum of 2-3 years.

No, any virologist or epidemiologist says it’s T cells and B cells, not antibodies that provide long term protection because that’s settled science from before Covid.

Pfizer, by their own study, says their vaccine will be 50% effective at 18 months. None of these vaccines will be effective without boosters. These vaccines, like the flu vaccine, are lifetime commitments.

Lol. Pfizer? You mean the company that makes money from boosters? The fda laughed them out of their offices a month ago when they wanted to do boosters. Again, the vaccine will last 2-3 years at least for serious disease. I know Pfizer wants us to take a shot every year though. Lol

So now I have to believe Pfizer is lying about their own protection because you say so. Figures.

Israel has started the 3rd Pfizer booster. Delta is ploughing through their vaccinated, though death rate is still low like it has always been. You may want to give Israel a call and let them know Pfizer is duping them…

Lol. They are doing it for over 60 years old. Jesus. Educate yourself. Also, they have a 2.6% reinfection rate. They have like 100 citizens with serious illness. So much for plowing thru their vaccinated.

So only ‘serious’ illness counts now? Because the fear porn has focused on total numbers, not just serious cases. Death rates have stayed low.

Cases mattered way more before the vaccine because more died or got hospitalized. As far as total cases, an estimated 125,000 vaccinated have been infected in the US. That’s .7% of the vaccinated. 97% of cases in VA in June and July were the unvaccinated. We are at 66,000 cases A DAY overall and only 125,000 TOTAL cases among the vaccinated this year. That means it’s working for cases as well.

Breakthroughs are estimated at 125k but no one knows because most places aren’t testing for that, nor should they be. It’s a worthless number to even report. Breakthroughs are just something they’d have to stumble on because most vaxxed folks (and most unvaxxed folks) are asymptomatic. People who don’t feel sick ain’t getting tested barring a work or travel requirement.

And the vaccinated are spreading the virus to the unvaccinated. Isn’t it grand?

That’s not the tested amount. That’s the number they estimate total. The unvaccinated are also vastly under reported. Again, 66000 known cases a day and about 95% are unvaccinated. 95%+ deaths and hospitalizations are unvaccinated. It’s not even worth arguing about. The vaccines are more successful than they ever imagined.

You need to get up to speed. Your comments are based on way old information.
No, it’s based on the most recent info from the cdc. That’s their actual words. Lol

Again, old information. Here is the latest:

"The delta variant of the coronavirus appears to cause more severe illness than earlier variants and spreads as easily as chickenpox, according to an internal federal health document that argues officials must 'acknowledge the war has changed.'

"The document is an internal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention slide presentation, shared within the CDC and obtained by The Washington Post.

"It cites a combination of recently obtained, still-unpublished data from outbreak investigations and outside studies showing that vaccinated individuals infected with delta may be able to transmit the virus as easily as those who are unvaccinated. Vaccinated people infected with delta have measurable viral loads similar to those who are unvaccinated and infected with the variant."

99% of the people dying are unvaccinated. That's the only stat anyone needs to know about this. No amount of anti-vax nonsense from you @TBFan or the other anti-vax loons can spin that staggering fact.

I'm not anti-vax. I'm simply trying to put out the facts so people can judge for themselves whether they want the COVID shots. Ignoring the facts gets us nowhere in an intelligent discussion.

I've stated all along that the vulnerable may want the shots because the threat of the virus might be greater than the risks of the shots. Studies show that people with more than one existing health condition are the most at risk from complications of the virus. But for most, the chance of dying from COVID are less than 1%. Therefore, the risks from the shots, and the unknown effects down the line, may be a greater risk.

People should have all the known information to make their own informed decisions.

I got the Pfizer, but I’m glad you got to drop in and call people anti-vaxxers. If it weren’t for personal attacks, you’d literally have nothing to say on this board.

And that has been debunked. That’s an article that guesses what’s in the cdc report. The Cdc report actually states it’s rare for a vaccinated person to catch it and transmit it. You got duped. They aren’t in the same galaxy with each other on catching it and transmitting it.

those percentages are on the rise and some states, like florida and new york, aren't even reporting those numbers. The only 2 people I know currently positive were both vaccinated earlier this year. But that means nothing.

States reporting the numbers show over 95% of the cases are among the unvaccinated. See VA. You’ll see them more and more. See Gottlieb above. It’s rare. If they get infected, they pass it to one person on avg. while unvaccinated pass it on to 6. Also, vaccinated get Covid way less that the unvaccinated. Do the math. The vaccinated are a very minor factor in overall cases and spread and therefore deaths and hospitalizations.

No. It has not been debunked.

Lol. 85% of those there were gay men packed in bars. See gottlieb above. It’s very rare for vaccinated to catch it and spread it.
Well, you're wrong. But I think you already know that and are just trolling.

Here comes Lambda. https://www.google.com/amp/s/financ...science-delta-infections-among-192153550.html

while this is on the table, the only alternative is to KEEP IT OUT. The NPI experiment is over. Hard border closure or nothing.
lol. Can they be any more vague on the Japan results? Delta is also more evasive vs vaccines but still can’t beat the vaccines.
