The other week I really started to pay attention to everyone’s weight at the gas station, work, grocery store, basically everywhere I went through out the week. I would say it’s really eye opening to notice just how many obese and over weight everyone is. Close to 80% would be considered at least overweight, and of those 40% were obese. It’s crazy just how fat everyone has gotten. I live in Huntsville in case you were wondering, but I would imagine it’s the same all over the state.
I don’t ever remember people being this fat as a child in the 90s. I know Alabama is not exactly known for our health and fitness, but I never thought it would be this bad and widespread. Clearly a lot of people aren’t making healthy choices but I think it has to do with America’s food supply and just how terrible our food really is compared to overseas.
Next time you’re in a public place pay attention to everyone’s weight. You’ll find that everyone 40 years old and over is overweight for the most part.
