First coach since:
(1) Barfield in 1980 to not go undefeated or win a SEC championship at Auburn (though Barfield did go 29-25 and come in 3rd in the SEC a couple times)
(2) Barfield in 1980 not to win AP SEC coach of the year
(3) Earl Brown in 1950 to leave Auburn with a losing record
(4) 2nd coach in my lifetime (I'm 44) to not have any SEC coaching experience before coming to Auburn (Bowden was the other)
I used to not think #4 was a requirement for an AU coaching hire (get the guy with the best resume - and Harsin had a great resume) but now I do.
