The Auburn gymnastics team moved up a spot to No. 5 in this week's RoadToNationals.com rankings with a 197.385. The weekly rankings are based on the average of all scores so far this season.
The Tigers (3-4, 1-2 SEC) have been ranked inside the Top 10 for 19-straight weeks, dating back to Week 1 of the 2022 season.
Auburn earned a season-high 197.700 last Friday on the road at No. 11 Alabama. It marked the first time in program history that an Auburn team scored a 197+ on the road in Tuscaloosa. And it was also the 20th-straight meet with a score above 197.
"Getting a great away score always helps your rankings," head coach Jeff Graba said. "We are getting very close to NQS rankings so those away scores are going to be so important. Being ranked fifth right now is exciting, but we still have a lot of work to do."
This week's top teams have not changed much as Oklahoma continues to hold the top spot (198.020).
Michigan moved up to No. 2 (197.775), while Florida slid down to No. 3 (197.735). Utah is fourth with a 197.695 average and Auburn closes out the top five.
The rest of the Southeastern Conference is among the top 20 – LSU (No. 9), Kentucky (No. 10), Alabama (No. 11), Missouri (No. 15), Arkansas (No. 16) and Georgia (No. 18).
Auburn ranks fifth nationally on vault (49.315) and floor (49.395). The Tigers are sixth on beam (49.335) and seventh on bars (49.340).
Individually, sophomore Sunisa Leeleads the country in the all-around with a 39.713 average following a career performance at Alabama (39.825). She jumped up to third on bars (9.955) and fourth on beam (9.925) after scoring a 10.0 on each apparatus last Friday and is in the top 20 on vault (9.900) and floor (9.913).
Fifth year Derrian Gobourne is among the nation's best on floor, ranking fifth with a 9.940 average. Senior Cassie Stevens is tied for 16th on vault (9.895) and the all-around (39.425).
Auburn hosts No. 9 LSU on Friday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. CT. The two Tiger teams will face off on SEC Network inside Neville Arena. War Eagle ladies. 🦅
