So my son had a fraternity buddy whose family is good friends with Todd Graves who started Raising Canes. I saw a story today where he just bought the most expensive penthouse in downtown Nashville for about $15 million dollars. It got me thinking about the influence that Guthrie’s had on different people. Hal Guthrie started a little restaurant that specialized in just chicken fingers and then his son Chris talked him into expanding into Auburn. From that humble beginning it lead to some pretty substantial fortunes being made by others. Todd Graves worked at Guthrie’s while he was a student at the University of Georgia. As did another guy who started a chicken finger place called Zaxby’s. There is also a very popular chicken finger place in Huntsville called Tenders whose owner I also believe worked at the Guthrie’s in Auburn. Todd Graves is worth about 8 billion dollars now.
