** Solid first practice. Younger guys watched first 14 periods and then they practiced. A handful of young guys that can help early.
** Tyler Carr graduates Saturday and will no longer be with team. Wonderful young man that did a super job at Auburn.
** Cord Sandberg attending brother's wedding. Be back for third practice.
** Bro Hamm has a knee issue but should be back during fall camp. Nick Brahms should be back during fall camp. Daquan Newkirk expected back "after a short time."
** Encouraging to see Will Hastings and Eli Stove go through practice. Still limited. No definite timetable.
** Offensive staff wants to see who steps up to fill Stove's speed sweep role and Hastings' role between the hashes.
** Want to get the all the OL in one position after the first scrimmage. Same with the '3' receiver position.
** Mike Horton took some snaps at center with the quarterbacks but not in team drills today.
** Tyler Carr is going to take an internship in his field of supply management.
** First scrimmage will be practice six, after a day off.
** Arryn Siposs "punted one real far" today. About 70 yards.
** Kolbi Fuqua has a really good attitude. Big, athletic guy. Comfortable doing both WR and DB.
** Noah Igbinoghene progressing at very fast rate at cornerback.
** Offered Cord Sandberg as a sophomore in high school. Had a prior relationship. He's a really good quarterback. He's a veteran guy, which is always good. Smart. Was a very good high school QB. It will probably be a little learning curve when he gets here but he's a professional.
** Hamm's injury is lingering from A-Day, nothing serious.
** Jayvaughn Myers is a guy Coach Steele has brought up to Gus numerous times over the past year. Rotated in at 1st-team nickel some today.
** Freshmen WR's are all talented. They can run, catch, have length.
** Tre' Williams is going to help team in recruiting role. Recently had shoulder surgery. Will try to make an NFL team next year.
