QB Joey Gatewood -- been committed two years. Stayed loyal whole time. Has a chance to be special player.
RB Asa Martin -- very versatile. Reminds us of Kerryon. Run, catch, pass protect.
RB Shaun Shivers -- one of the leaders of class, helped with recruitment. Reminds Gus of McCalebb.
WR Shedrick Jackson -- so polished. Great job at camp, ran a 4.4. Has a chance to be special.
WR Seth Williams -- big WR, great basketball player. Great upside.
OL Kameron Stutts -- big, athletic. Has great upside. Competitive. Best days ahead.
OL Jalil Irvin -- will play center. Also helped with recruiting. Good upside Really athletic.
DL Daquan Newkirk -- very athletic. Played RB in high school.
DE Kayode Oladele -- will be excellent pass rusher. Stood out at camp.
LB Michael Harris -- rangy, can play all positions, rush the passer.
LB Zakoby McClain -- can run, very physical.
DB Josh Marsh -- Ran a 4.48 in camp. Very excited about him.
S Smoke Monday -- plays with an edge
S Jamien Sherwood -- big guy, very excited about his ability.
CB Christian Tutt -- good returner, competitive.
** Have had really good practices. Spent extra time with young guys each day. Seen the young guys improve. Focus has been good. Everybody has practiced. Expect everyone to play in bowl. One more practice in Auburn Thursday before Christmas break.
** Interested what the high school coaches and players think about early signing period.
** Used to be rare for Gus to go on his in-home visits before Christmas. Had to do many more this time for early period.
** Loves the physical tools of Gatewood. Only one Cam Newton but Gatewood looks like him when he walks into a room. Got a lot of respect for him for being loyal through offensive coordinator change.
** 4-5 signees have already practiced with team. Learning individual drills first. Plus getting them used to how you practice. All of them stood out.
** The early period will allow them to get a better head start on 19 and 20 in January.
** Need to add a big-time TE to the class. Need to add another OL or two.
** Today was different than a normal Signing Day. Also preparing for bowl game and practice. Not a whole lot of surprises today, which took the stress off.
** Losing guys in the secondary. Recruited DB's to come in and help us. All three will be here early, which is good.
** Martin is well rounded. Very good running, great quickness, strength. Very good pass pro in high school, which is rare. Here early.
** Kerryon has looked good. Practiced every day. Moving around better and better. Thinks there's a chance he'll be 100 percent for bowl game.
** Auburn's bowl schedule is pretty close to what they've done in past. Feel good about prep. Had pretty physical practices.
** Nick Brahms has something to him, fight. Calvin Ashley has taken the next step. Bro Hamm has also had a good week of practice.
** Alec Jackson has shown out on the DL.
** Tashawn Manning and Hamm have come a long way. Can definitely help next season. Real proud of those guys.
** The November run helped in this class but will help even more in 2019-20. Being successful in big games helps. In a real good spot.
** Marsh has the flexibility to play both LB and DB.
** There's a possibility of adding 1-2 more signees in next two days.
** Harris and McClain can run, very physical. T-Will was a little undersized too. Feel very good about current LBs, as good as any in the SEC.
** The game plan for Peach Bowl is in. Once they get to ATL they'll review it again and have good practices.
