So, my girlfriend’s son got married year and a half ago, became a father about a month ago as well as he and his wife bought their first house about 6 months ago. Now none of that is really that important except to say as I was grilling for them yesterday when they came down he told me that he has never grilled nor owned a grill but with the new house, being a father and husband, etc. he wants to learn. My thought is we get him a grill for Father’s Day, and his birthday which is just two weeks after.
So now my question, the best grill for a novice. My thoughts are:
gas- which I don’t like personally but is easier to regulate temps for a novice
charcoal grill - but would get one that has the pellet smoker attached on the side and a temp gauge with some thermometers, etc
first grill probably looking for $600-$700 or less. Don’t want to buy a convertible for a 16 year old type of thing, but he is 25 and capable of doing most things, just never really grilled.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
