It sounds like there is potentially enough reasonable doubt to avoid any kind of murder case. Manslaughter maybe, but based on the girlfriend's statements, it may be hard to get. It's a tragic situation for sure. I think the officer definitely needs to be terminated, if for nothing else, failing to follow the felony stop procedure. What crime he committed, I'm not sure. It certainly sounds like he acted extremely prematurely based on very incomplete information.
