Friend that lives in Hoover was at a red light. His daughter appx 12 yrs old is in the front passenger seat watching a soccer match on her I-pad.
Hoover PD pulls up beside them. Once the light turns green, he immediately pulls them over.
Wrote my buddy a $125.00 ticket for having a "TV like device in view of the driver." He goes to Court over it and he asked the Judge - "what about navigation systems, the laptops Police use on the dash and GPS?" "Those are exempt Sir." He even got the :ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Had to pay Court cost of $145.00 and needs to attend a 4 hour driving class.
So beware if your kids ride in the front seat!
