I'm not talking about the CBS or ESPN hardwired action cams over the playing field for games. Those are approved and just fine. I'm talking garden variety DRONES.
Referee told me that once or twice, SEC crews unexpectedly encountered drones being flown over and near the playing field. Must have oddly gotten the approval from home stadium officials, for all I know a revenue enhancing opportunity.
It's not a rule, but a game management issue, and the SEC game managers have made it clear the game will be STOPPED if any drone is being flown in the stadium.
File this in wild and weird rules / game management, but I can see potentially a player, referee or fan safety issue if some stadium were to allow drones to be used regularly.
