the founding fathers had great foresight (not to be confused with the uncircumcised foreskin of Ben Franklin) but they couldn't predict us landing on the moon back then, thus the need to allow for amendments to the constitution (such as the 2nd amendment which was implemented only 4 short years after the constitution was written). If they couldn't see the need to legalize gun ownership in the original document, how could they imagine people having and using weapons with the capacity to kill multiple innocent people in a matter of minutes? If they did have that foresight, do you think that they might have put limits on gun ownership and don't you think that people with sense that replaced them later should have the ability to correct the deficiencies of their original work?

If you don't think that the future governmental leaders should have had the right to adjust for the unforeseeable changes in technology and human behavior, then why would they have allowed for amendments to be implemented after the original document was written? If you think that they shouldn't have made amendments possible then would you agree that the 2nd amendment should never have been implemented in the first place?
