Any idea if/when they will allow the athletes to take pictures, sign autographs, and interact with the fans again?

I took my daughter to her first ever meet last year for the home opener against Iowa State. I bought season tickets this year, but due to my work schedule, yesterday’s home opener against Arkansas will be the only one that I will get to take her to this year.

Last year, someone had mentioned that the athletes usually would meet the fans in the lobby for pictures and autographs after the meets, but once we got there and the meet was over, I asked one of the gymnasts (Sara Hubbard) if they could take pictures and was told that they couldn’t. I figured it was due to all the covid policies in place from 2020 still being around, so it was what it is. I was bummed out when we were told the same thing after the meet this year since I didn’t figure there would be any type of restrictions still around from that anymore.

If they are doing away with those type of interactions, what other opportunities are out there, either from previous years or in the future, for my daughter to be able to get to interact and get pictures with the gymnasts? The only thing I could think of was possibly the A-Day game and the skills camp that they do in the summer, but I’d imagine, if she was even there, that it’d be about impossible to have much time for her to chat with Suni.

She has been a huge fan of Suni’s since the local news channel came and interviewed her and another couple of girls at the gym she was with in between Suni winning the gold and starting to take classes at Auburn. At both of the meets that we’ve been to, she’s been starstruck and has been shy about even waving at the gymnasts, but the few times she’s tried with Suni, she was in the zone or didn’t see her to wave back. I know it’s probably a long shot and luck as much as anything, but I’d hate for her to not get the chance to at least get to say hey or a quick picture with her before she leaves Auburn and continues on with bigger and better things.
