That think he's so great.
He was fired mid year of his second season by the raiders.
He left UT with no real quality wins other than beating South Carolina who was at the time ranked 21
At USC he's fired on the tarmac in year 4 after a 3-2 start allowing 61 points to Arizona St.
He had 1 good year at USC and lost two bad games.
At FAU he didn't win 1 game he wasn't supposed to. He did win C-USA two times
At Ole Miss his biggest wins are against SEC teams that have all ended the year with 4 or more losses and he got beat by Baylor in the sugar bowl.
His recruiting classes are ranked (46), (17), (27) & currently 34. At USC he obviously had better classes but the year after his 10 win season they were number 8, the highest a class had been at USC in a decade.
Don't get me wrong Lane Kiffin can coach football and he can definitely call plays with the best of them but I question his overall running of a program. He also supposedly the King of the Portal. He has gotten a lot of players from it. Only 1 offensive lineman. Is building a team of transient players sustainable? No one really knows but it is a plus for him.
I just do not think throwing a 7-8 year fully guaranteed 70 or 8 million dollar contract to him is worth it. That is just my opinion.
I do think we could do a lot worse and will not be mad if we get him but we are paying him like he's the next greatest coach on earth.
Again, Just my opinion
