Despite the availability of a vaccine that prevents the vast majority of infections, 90%+ of hospitalizations, and 99%+ of deaths, Florida is somehow still being hit harder now than they were at the peak of the third wave in January. This was unfortunately completely foreseeable given that DeSantis made the craven political decision to focus his efforts on attacking local governments and businesses who sought to implement mitigation measures or require proof of vaccinations. Over 1k Americans losing their lives in Florida in the last week when 99% of those deaths were preventable is unbelievably tragic. How many more need to needlessly die before people will start calling for the reckless downplayers/anti-vaxers to be held accountable?
