Even in our one losing season a few years back, you had a bonafide stud PG in Sharife (who also missed several games due to both injury and ridiculous NCAA interference).
The Samir/McCormick squad had Okoro.
Obviously you had Jabari and Walker last year.
You had Bryce, Jared, and Chuma before that.
This is the first time in a long time there is no one on the roster that is "that dude".
People crucifying Bruce for roster management...understand that KD and Wen were both only here for a year and I'm sure Bruce expected they would improve, on top of bringing in a good youngster in Tre.
The most glaring issue is that Westry and Traore...two top 60 recruits....have been basically nonexistent as contributors. Broome has been very good but he's not "Replace two first round picks production" good. So, you have the same guards who have not improved plus a young freshman who looks promising but isn't a superstar. And you have a front court that...minus Broome.....isn't producing much of anything offensively.
That being said...Bruce I'm sure sees this and understands that he whiffed in some areas. It happens to everyone at some point. Not much can be done in season outside of some guys suddenly shooting and playing better.
Making the tourney would be a huge accomplishment given what the team has performed like so far.
