I'm talking full strength (Chuma) and everyone playing their best. I would give the slight edge to this year's team, but I go back and forth on this all of the time.
PG-Harper vs Zep/Wendell
SG-Brown vs KD
SF-Purifoy vs Flanigan
PF-Chuma vs Jabari
C-Wiley vs Kessler
Bench-Dunbar, Samir, McClemore, and McCormick vs Cardwell, Jaylin, Cambridge, and Wendell/Zep (whoever doesn't start in this scenario)
Everyone being healthy benefits the Final 4 team, but everyone being at their best benefits the current team (Flanigan and our guards' shooting and turnover issues right now). I'd almost have to say that depth would be a push between the 2 teams, even counting Wendell as someone coming off of the bench. I also think that our current team would have a larger +/- swing depending on if this game was played at home or a neutral site. I don't remember the Final 4 team having those big swings when they weren't playing in Auburn and they proved during the tournament run that they can play just fine on a big stage away from Auburn.
The biggest wildcard, to me, in all of this, is that we haven't truly seen Jabari take over a game and show us what his ceiling his. Just that alone may make every other matchup irrelevant and push the current team over the Final 4 team. That Chuma vs Jabari matchup would be a whole lot of fun to watch though.
It'd be cool if @Jay G. Tate or @Cclemente could do something similar to a Madden Super Bowl simulation and really breakdown a theoretical head to head matchup between these two teams before the NCAA tournament starts
