Vast majority of people my age and younger (mostly zoomers) exhibit anti-social behavior and are completely incapable of self-assessment or receiving criticism/correction and processing it in a way that is healthy for themselves or those around them. Contrary to most I do not think it is anything inherent to individuals in Gen Z but rather that it is almost entirely the result of poor parenting. Fixing any issues a child faces well into college, resolving their disputes with peers and superiors for them, demanding things be done or arraignments be made on their behalf, and also operating on the default assumption that your child is either right or not the at fault when disputes or conflict arises. Reality is that this is not a clearly defined conservative or liberal phenomenon, it is universal and it manifests in different ways for each side.
Do you think this assessment is accurate and if so what is the fix? Only solution I can think of is to raise awareness of it, but that would require making people uncomfortable which neither side is willing to do right now. I think secularization of society has also contributed heavily, but I don't see that trend reversing anytime soon either.
Guess I'll have to start with my own kids when I have them and hope others do the same. People are already toxic and driven by instant self-gratification as is, can't imagine what it will be like in 40 years if this trend continues.
