Kevin Na yesterday, and now D.J. have resigned their PGA Tour memberships to play on the LIV tour. I guess it's their way of making a statement, or trying to avoid official punishment, but it'll be interesting to see if the majors collude to try and block players by aligning with the PGA Tour's hardline approach.
Less travel, less tourney AND more money is hard to beat, but LIV has a long way to go to become a serious long term competitor. Can they continue to doll out these HE-UGE checks unless they eventually get sponsors, T.V. contracts etc.?
At the end of the day, I'm not all bent out of shape mad like some are. I love the PGA Tour, but all major Pro leagues have faced this type of competition, and the successful one's ended up forcing a merger. The National & American leagues in baseball. The AFL & NFL in football, (and other's such as the USFL tried to mount a challenge). The ABA, and NBA in basketball, so this is not unprecedented at all. What is interesting is the PGA's super hardline stance trying to force the player's hand.
