turned out just about like I expected. All the bigs in foul trouble.

The zebras were pretty harsh in the first half, but it mellowed out some. Still the missed goal tend and the F1 on Dylan - total horseshit - was a 7-point swing, and that was the difference in the game, plus Duke's half-court defense was absolutely withering tonight, better than ours, which is something you rarely see.

We couldn't turn them over and we seemed to lack awareness of our positioning and gave up a shit ton of boards.

Other than that, we didn't play poorly, and save a few untimely penalties, we were there right to the end. The last 3 Duke possessions when they were up only two were absolute masterclasses. Very, very impressive defense. I kept expecting us to splash one, but it just didn't happen.

Love me some Haad, but he's a defensive liability. Not sure how we shore that up because he needs to be on the court. BP gave up on the JPP experiment tonight. I'm not sure if that's all she wrote, or he just wanted to win badly enough that he wasn't going there. Even Denver struggled. I don't think he got a single drive that wasn't contested at the rim and if he scored from inside the paint, I didn't see it.

Kudos to Duke and to Cameron. It was what I expected atmosphere wise. We won't play in a tougher environment this year.

Goodness we still have loads of improvement to make. Our PGs are still holding us back. We still get lost in man (everyone does, but when we do it other teams capitalize). We get stagnant and Johni gets way, way too impatient wanting the ball. His back-to-back unforced errors trying to create for himself were a turning point in the game. Still, he put up his old reliable double double so we can't fault the best player in the country too much. We get complacent on the boards, gotta be ruthless.

Auburn beats Duke by 14-18 in Neville, and by 9 or so in a neutral venue.

Onward and upward, live and learn. WDE
