We have a small (very small) dog that just turned 17. She is definitely on her last leg, and we assumed she would have already passed. Now, I am wondering if we should go ahead and put her down. She still eats and drinks water, but she seems to struggle elsewhere. She no longer lets us know when she needs to go to the bathroom, she just does wherever she desires. She is deaf in both ears, has one eye that has lost all vision, seems to have some joint issues that cause her to hobble around the house when she does get up to move. I'm not home every day, but I'd guess she sleep 20+ hours a day. She has always been an inside dog, she used to sleep in the bed with us (no desire to anymore), she really does not interact with us a ton. My daughter gives her a fair amount of attention; not sure the dog loves the attention (never really has). What are your thoughts on this situation?
