Does the new redshirt rule change things as far as running the clock out on weaker teams?

As an example...Gatewood gets to play in 4 games. So do we let Malik read option some team to death for the last quarter and a half or do we put them in and let them sling it?

I guess wasting that time was bad before...but with the new redshirt rule it seems worse.
