We've always talked about how the teams of many coaches that turned out to be really good or great, make a big leap in their 2nd season. This is despite having talent poor rosters when they got there, not having players left over from previous coaches etc. So does that still hold true today given the NIL/Portal environment we're in today?
I see people constantly flitting from one thing to another trying to explain our decline and struggles. Gus and Harskins didn't leave enough talent. CHF is recruiting like gang-busters, but it's just going to take more time to show up on the field. Then last year, it was that Walker White was going to save us, (as a true frosh
), and now you see some start to throw Deuce's name out there as the QB savior for next year.
Is it reasonable to expect coaches to show significant jumps on the field relatively early, (i.e. 2nd or 3rd year), given all of the changes in college football?
