I might have shared the gist of this thought on here before, but here goes:

The concept is pretty simple. Saban is #BuiltByBama and not vice versa.

In 13 years of head coaching Saban was average at best.

In college, prior to bama he avg. 8.27 wins and 3.81 losses over 11 seasons.

In the pros he avg. 7.5 and 8.5 over 2 seasons.

In college he was 3-5 in bowls with 1 natty win (The Hat also won a natty at LSU, and played in a 2nd one.)

It's no secret that coaches can win big at LSU and Alabama.

IMO Nick Saban should have the opposite of his arrogant attitude and be extremely grateful that he landed at bama b/c otherwise he would just be another dude with a natty on the resume (maybe he goes somewhere and wins a 2nd, mayyyybe a 3rd, but if he landed outside of an SEC powerhouse then even winning a 2nd natty becomes problematic and he would be facing large odds.)

I will give him credit for taking full advantage of the situation, and we've certainly not seen a union like this (HC and School) very often in the pantheon of CFB coaches.

I'll borrow the words of Chizdom, altered slightly: "bama was great before you got here, and bama will be great when you leave." Someone needs to tell the fella in West Vance that he basically won the lottery and should be expressing extreme gratitude at every chance he gets. More than his "process" it's the school that he's at...at best it's 50-50, but 13 years of prior evidence is hard to ignore.
