Spoke with DL coach Jeremy Garrett today...
** Garrett is very happy to have Keldric Faulk at defensive end. Biggest adjustment of moving from Jack LB is the physicality but Garrett doesn’t think that will be an issue with Faulk.
** Faulk is competing at defensive end with Mosiah Nasili-Kite, who has looked very good after losing some weight in the offseason.
** Faulk and Kite working at d-end has allowed Marcus Harris to move back to defensive tackle, where he’s at his best. Also working at DT is Lawrence Johnson and Darron Reed Jr.
** Garrett mentioned Reed as the young guy that’s standing out the most right now. Really likes his pass rush.
** Had some very positive things to say about Jayson Jones, who worked really hard in the offseason to improve. He’s in a close competition with Justin Rogers at nose tackle.
** Here’s my current depth chart from talking to Garrett…
DE: 1. Nasili-Kite, 2. Faulk
NG: 1. Jones or Rogers
DT: 1. Harris, 2. L. Johnson/Reed
** Bobby Jamison-Travis is coming on working at NG and DT.
