Ate a light breakfast this morning and then planted 5 blueberry bushes. Showered and took a nap and did not eat beforehand. Mistake.
My Libre glucose meter goes off, waking me up saying my blood sugar was at 59! I did a finger stick to verify and it said 55. My new personal "low." Once I stood up, I could feel it.. wobbley legs, tingling fingers - mercy I hate that frigging feeling! I'm sure some of you can relate.
Wolfed down some dark chocolate, cantaloupe and apple juice and was back up to normal soon. Took me most of the day to bouncer back tho.
I remember before I was diabetic, we had a food strike at the prison. If you went to the chow hall when given the opportunity, you'd get your a$$ beat for doing it. There was this one older guy that when the doors to his unit were open, he'd go to the chow hall with a handmade sign on his back that said "Diabetic - Must Eat." I get that now. I would have had to go too! Nobody bothered him.
