COVID dying out?

"It was like an aggressive tiger in March and April, but now it's like a wild cat. Even elderly patients, aged 80 or 90, are now sitting up in bed, and they are breathing without help. The same patients would have died in two or three days before," Bassetti said."

Yeah but this is in resilient, hearty old-country Italians, not fat, diabetic, COPD-ridden Americans.

I just hope he’s right, but it’s nowhere near proven.

“There could be a lower viral load in the respiratory tract, probably due to a genetic mutation in the virus which has not yet been demonstrated scientifically.”

With everyone being out and not a sharp uptick in deaths and hospitalizations, I’m hoping that we’re seeing this reflected and we get closer to herd immunity.

I always have such a hard time deciding which experts to blindly follow and which experts to ignore.

Just happy to have people like you that can show us the way without letting your personal biases get in the way.
You should start by ignoring every poster on the Bunker who tries to pass his or her own views off as those of an "expert." Second, you should ignore politicians and pundits. Third, you should pay attention to trained and experienced experts in public health and infectious diseases. They certainly exist and it's not very hard to identify them.

Deaths and hospitalizations are way down. Cases are up (because of more testing). This is really good, and yet the fear mongering media and Coronabros completely ignore this.

Not that it means much of anything but my mom works at a nursing home with 40+ cases right now. All but two are asymptomatic.

There is def a reason we are still seeing 25-30 thousand cases a day but only two or three hundred deaths. We are either treating it better or it’s not as lethal as it once was.

After an event in November, you'll see a dramatic drop in the fear porn and all businesses will miraculously open up with no restrictions...and BLM will hibernate for 4 years.

You're assuming that there isn't an adjacent person of a certain party that can be blamed for something.

If you ever check the ADPH dashboard on this virus, you will come away answering the question "How come I know very few people who have been hospitalized or have died from this"

Yeah that’s been my intuition. I just got tired of looking at the numbers. I’ve just been trying to tell folks that it’s not the number of cases that should really surprise or upset you. Watch the hospitalizations and the deaths. So many of these new sports cases are asymptomatic, if that’s the same out here, it could be that we’ll have a exponentially lower death rate and it is less to worry about.

That being said I would advice everyone to still be careful, while not being overly cautious.

Virus dying? This will most certainly trigger liberals.

This kind of thinking absolutely blows my mind.

virus actually dying = every single person regardless of politics is thrilled.

People prematurely deciding that the virus is over because they’re just done dealing with it even though it’s still an issue, sure people will be triggered.

Cases went up because testing went up period. Not because we started living again

We probably originally had 5 times as many people with Covid back in April than we originally thought.

Hospitalizations and deaths are going down real fast.

And honestly that's all that matters.

I saw a new statistic today "Cases in the Americas" which is counting Brazil because they're getting hammered.

I haven’t given an opinion. I simply stated there were opposing opinions in this article. As much as you have gotten wrong in the last 3-4 months, I’m shocked that you still comment on this virus.
