Bank $$$ needs to be thrown Broome's way to convince him to come back next year rather than attempt to move on to a career in professional basketball somewhere on this planet. He should be worth in the neighborhood to AU in NIL compensation of around $700K. Honestly, JB game is not suited for the NBA nor does he have the athleticism to make and stick with a roster. He is a consummate college player in the mold of a Drew Timme (ex Gonzaga) who understood his limitations and capitalized on a wonderful college career.
AU's team next year cannot compete with only D. Cardwell as the fill in center, and some potential transfer when we already know what we have in JB (who could very easily be a 1st Team All American). He needs to improve his defensive game, work on keeping his man out of the paint, improve his footwork and back to the basket moves. Broome cannot finish with his right hand nor does he even attempt to. He should hire a professional who could teach him "big man" moves. Please don't bash me for pointing out the obvious.
We need Broome back next season or it will be a crapshoot with what we will bring in for the 4-5 positions. We will have Cardwell (potentially)who can provide backup minutes at the 5 and no one else from the existing roster at either the 4 or 5. That is a recipe for disaster. Trust in Bruce yes, but let's lock down the sure thing. It's only money.
