"The only two choices were to lose the game or not play football for another generation. It was Coach Malzahn's plan to put the Defense out there first, and when we won the toss and I elected to receive, it showed how foolish the Malzahn plan was when Zackoby McClain threw a pick 6 to open both halves. Losing Bo Nix and Tank for the season was unfortunate, they needed better technique rushing the Akron QB. It also was inconvenient when Akron would not comply with the 12 different kickoff times we came up with. The pictures of Akron players in our abandoned lockerroom and training room and drinking our Gatorade were a result of our commitment to get our team safely from their dorms to the field and back. We really didn't need our equipment anymore, as we were committed to getting 95% our scholarship players out of the stadium by halftime. But, to date, we have heard of no complaints from ticket holders or our SEC allies"
