Yes, he got a double-double and his scoring spurt turned the game, but man his entire stat line was impressive. Half his rebounds were offensive. He added 3 assists (second on the team), 2 steals, 2 blocks and only 1 turnover and zero fouls in 34 minutes. From a freshman who had never played as many minutes and hadn’t been asked to lead on such a big stage.
It was a virtuoso performance, and seemed to come quite easily for him.
He will have bumps and growing pains. He won’t always be perfect. But this kid is special.
