He's the Washington coach ...

"We made too many errors."

Auburn's defense held you to FGs?
"It's a really good defense. They played like that all year last year. In the red zone, you have to be very detail-oriented. We kicked too many field goals. Our defense did the same thing for the most part — forced them into some field goals. We're close, but that doesn't count in a game like this."

He's asked about having to play so far from home? (Who cares?)
He rejects this. "We had a lot of first-game mistakes. We'll get it worked out. We knew a game like this was going to come down to some details."

On the UW tailback?
"He's a heck of a running back. We've got to keep getting him the ball."

Should you have passed it more?
"Our receivers did a nice job on balls down the field. It's easy to sit here and question those things. We just asked them to play hard, go fast and don't think. We'll have them thinking less, less mental errors."

On his OL?
"That's hard for me to know. I'll have to look at the tape on that one. I know there will be a lot to clean up there. They tested us in a big way."

On QB Jake Browning?
"He's hard to evaluate for me sitting here. It's like the offensive line. I know the one pick on the sideline, he's got to throw that one away. It was first-(game) stuff."

On the meaning of this game, how if affects UW's reputation?
"I don't know and I really don't care. It was Game One against a good opponent. It's a long season. If we'd won, I'd feel exactly the same."
