Landlord is raising the rent from $2,500 to $3,250. That's twice as much as the mortgage for my 2,900 sq. ft. house in the Montgomery suburbs. Now I can't blame the landlord for charging that rent if they know they can get someone to pay it, but the chick makes a good point. If a city wants coffee shops, bodegas, parks, and a ton of other things that make a city a cool place to live, but have to be staffed by low wage employees, where do those people LIVE when local rents are that high? @AUBK, isn't Brooklyn where your bar is? How the hell can your staff afford to live there?
