We are here to speak with Carnell Williams as Auburn prepares for Alabama
- Starts with a War Eagle
- Proud of the players and coaching staff last week for beating a good Western Kentucky team.
- We are excited about the Iron Bowl as a staff and as a team.
- On Saban recruiting him? "I enjoyed visiting with him so much that I took an official visit (to LSU). I respect Coach Saban and what he stands for."
- On running football against Bama and their defensive front: "Physical bunch. Big. Long. We know about Will Anderson. He's a handful ... We have a challenge here. We are looking forward to this opportunity. We are going down there to fight and compete."
- On what he has done well and hasn't done well as a head coach: "Some of the things I can do better, myself and my staff, are putting our guys in position to be better. I'm just a firm believer as a coach that if guys are confused or if things aren't going right, it's our job as a teacher to get them prepared."
- On advantages of being loose going into Iron Bowl: "I wouldn't say it is an advantage of playing loose. I've played this game at all three levels and it is about having fun."
- "If you can't get up for this game this week, this last game you are putting on the uniform, there's something wrong." - His message to the seniors
- M'ba, Harris and Burks are all three day-to-day going into the Iron Bowl.
- "McIntyre almost tripped me. Almost ruined my magical moment." - Cadillac on the Go Crazy Cadillac run, jokingly
- On the defense: Told the coordinators to keep it simple. What we don't have scheme-wise or player-wise, we can make up for it for effort.
- On what a win would mean in the Iron Bowl: "First of all, no one should make this about me. It should be about the seniors, honestly. We have a group of guys in that locker room that have never won in Bryant-Denny Stadium."
- Says he is going to have his chitlins, collard greens, his mother's famous cornbread and dressing on Thanksgiving. Says he enjoys the meal a lot, especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I told him about my world famous deviled eggs.
- "I'm proud of those guys up front. It's big for them to have two guys go for more than 100 yards in back-to-back weeks."
- "Robby, as a quarterback, he's still evolving and growing. He's doing a good job of getting us in the right checks. As I told people, the kid hasn't played ball for 2-3 years, this is his sixth game playing big-time football and he's still learning."
- "I saw that this morning and honestly, I felt bad, sometimes I get caught up in the moment and it hit me that 'Wow, that is pretty cool.' What a blessing it is." - on being the first African-American head coach in the Iron Bowl
- "The guy was a great football player but an even better person. Those guys are lucky to be coached by a guy with such a high resume." - On Kendall Simmons
That is it for Coach Cadillac.
