- Thoughts and prayers go out to UVA. "My heart hurts. I hurt for them and their families."
- "I am very appreciative of the Auburn family, the way they showed up on Saturday night. Wow, what an atmosphere. Great win, but now it is time for us to turn the page because we have a Western Kentucky team that is pretty doggone good."
- Mentions explosive offense, good defense.
- "We should be even more prepared and know what to expect. Those guys should be confident." - on facing WKU, a team that throws a lot after facing MSU two weeks ago
- "Honestly, those guys up front, they are moving people. They are fighting. They are together. They are straining out there." - On Auburn being able to run the ball
- "Jarquez and Tank, those guys feed off each other. I know that feeling." - Mentions Ronnie, Brandon Jacobs and Tre Smith. "You're happy for them, but you want some of that action."
- "Honestly, for us kicking the ball, it does affect your decision because McPherson, he has a big leg and he will be one of the better kickers that will play here, but with that wind in our face .. it made a lot of difference."
- Said the wind also played a factor in punt returning, but they can't use that excuse. Said in passing game as well.
- "That starts with me. We've got to put those guys in better position. We also have to make those throws when they are there." - on receivers only having one catch against A&M
- On tackling against A&M: "Effort on defense." Mentions guys in secondary that played lights out along with Colby Wooden who made the play of the game.
- Offensive line stood out. The run game did a lot of good things. We still have to improve on pass protection.
- Says need to get better in the red zone.
- On Senior Day on Saturday and that class: "Not one time have they flinched. They've stayed steady. They've continued to believe. They are going to do some really cool things in life because of all the adversity they have been through and how they have handled it."
- On staying unpredictable on offense: "Want to get back to Auburn football. Auburn for me is toughness, perseverance. I think one of the great things about football is when your opponent knows you are running the ball and you impose your will on them, it takes out the fight of some teams. I don't mind that 3-to-1 ratio of running the football."
- Says he is doing away with players of the week.
- On the game ball: "I'm keeping that one now." Says when he was a player he never kept any game ball or trophies, always gave it away to his mom or dad.
- Favorite moment from Saturday? "That is a loaded, great question. Honestly, my favorite moment was to see those former players on the sideline." Mentions all of those guys were in the locker room when he was addressing the team before the game.
- How did it feel to get the game ball? "Honestly it caught me by surprise. I did the speech, we danced, to have the captain Derick Hall and Owen and those guys come up and present me with the game ball, that is when it sort of it different."
- Says he had two different Auburn group chats with former teammates telling him, "Lac, you can't do that."
That's it for Carnell. We have players coming up next.
