We are set to speak with Cadillac Williams at 3 p.m. CT as Auburn prepares to host Texas A&M this Saturday.
Follow along for all updates.
- So proud of the way the guys fought on Saturday. Those guys came together at halftime of the game, never got down.
- MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS at halftime!!!! Now we're talking.
- Proud of the players and staff on short notice.
- Special teams, we could have played better. Self-inflicted wounds.
- Overall, happy how these kids competed and how the coaches worked their tails off to prepare.
- Any push for him to be the next head coach? "Honestly, I'm just worried about now ... I'm not even focused on that."
- On difference between last week and this week: "I know offensively for us it is going to be a lot better. We've had some time to truly, not to make any excuses, but have a whole week to watch Texas A&M and come up with a plan and attack them the way we see fit."
- " I would rather lose that game the way we did and see the way the kids came together versus we win that game and some of the same things go on."
- On playing more players along defensive front: "The more people you play, the fresher they will be."
- On McPherson and other guys seeing field: "We are going to continue to put our heads together and get the best players on the field."
- On tweet and support during last week: "Honestly, it don't surprise me. That's why I chose this place because of that same love that you all are feeling from the Auburn family."
- On running out as head coach in Jordan-Hare? "It's Monday so I'm going to hold it together ... You can't make this up. Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to feel. I do know I have a job to do to get this team ready to play, get them prepared. I know I can't make this about me, but I'm going to enjoy it in the moment."
- On the defense responding: "Coach Schmedding played a pivotal role in that defense. One thing I stressed to our defensive coaches is let's get simple. It's not the time to put any complex things in."
- Update on Austin Troxell: "Troxell is having season-ending knee surgery (today). I feel for that young man because he gave a lot to this program. I'm proud of that young man. I personally hurt for him."
- Donovan Kaufman: "He is day-to-day right now."
- On what he wants to be called? "Pretty much I have been asked that since I came to Auburn. A lot of players call me Coach 'Lac, Coach Williams, Coach Carnell. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me."
- Cadillac says he got 5 hours of sleep last night. Did challenge his staff, saying they can't be up here at the complex all night.
- Gave players a day off yesterday. Did a "Captain's Practice" where they run, work out and watch film on their own.
- "Auburn threw a bombshell on me, so I threw one back at them." - On making Will Friend and Ike Hilliard co-offensive coordinators last week. "They are football junkies."
That's it for Cadillac.
