Speaking to Butch Thompson today to preview this weekend's series against Texas A&M, which is scheduled for Thu-Sat. Click refresh, will continue to update...
** Will evaluate weather starting tomorrow morning. Important to find a way to get three games in. Thursday should be a go as normal. Friday could be two depending on Saturday forecast. Sunday is not an option.
** Will Cannon will start Thursday night and be followed by Tanner Bauman. Tommy Vail will be game three and game two will be TBA for now.
** Chase Isbell likely out with oblique, but the report was positive and he won't be out long.
** Getting Tommy Sheehan back was big. He was clean last night. Drove the fastball pretty good. He could return for a game three.
** A hallmark of our program has been our players staying in the fight even during adversity.
** Cooper McMurray is having great at-bats. Had three of the hardest hit balls at UAB and didn't get credit for them. If guys can hang in there, this can be the best lineup we've had.
** Bottom of order is doing better. Nate LaRue hitting better, Caden Green had a good series at UF, got on base four times at UAB.
** It's great to be able to honor Frank Thomas Saturday, the only SEC player in the MLB Hall of Fame. Will be a special weekend.
