Hey Bunk. We have our 11-month builders warranty coming up. The photo attached shows an issue that cited by my home inspector as a code violation (R703.4) saying it needs to be installed shingle fashion and fastened. This is located under the roof on the angled gable located on the left side of our home.
My builder is saying this is not applicable to that code and simply needs to be fastened.
I don’t understand terms like “flashing” and “drip edge” and “lap joints” but the principles of water flow and gravity would seem like this should be installed shingle-fashion (upper over lower).
Help a nerd with some knowledge and advice, please. 🙏
