I’m replacing a washer valve box and installing a new washer. I shut off the water and drained my pipes first. Then I cut away almost a square foot of drywall underneath the spigots behind the washer. Cut both pipes about six inches down.

Added two female adapter at the top of two new pipes, cut them at 6 in and connected them to the old pipe using a transition piece and a fiber weld patch. People on you tube used a blowtorch but I know I’d burn the house down

New spigots are in place and the drywall is still out but I’m afraid to turn the water on. Does this sound right? Did I ruin my house? Am I a man, dad?
