** At a crossroads early in the season. Is this going to be a postseason team, one that improves as the season goes on? Is this team going to continue to show its youth? Teams get good scouting reports on you, you have to adjust to how they're playing you.

** Ole Miss leads league in rebounding. They play physical, rebound and block shots. They press. They are a challenge to prepare for.

** Curious to see how we come out on Saturday because we have our backs against the wall.

** Pearl tries to reward the hardest workers and the ones he's playing are working the hardest. Needs more on the defensive end from the group.

** Pearl said the issues were mostly defensive execution, not effort.

** Got behind by 19 early at Vanderbilt, lost by 19. A lot of talk afterwards about preparing better and executing better to start games.

** Learning curve is bigger with a young team. Should improve in areas they're breaking down in.

** Current team doesn't have that dimension where they're great at anything. Good in a lot of areas but don't have a killer, go-to dimension. Got to find that dimension where we can hang our hat.

** Spent a lot of time on drop-back defense, need to play better in that area.

** Ole Miss creates a lot of turnovers. Has juniors and seniors at every position. Our kids are talented and good enough to compete with them, just lack the experience.

** Danjel Purifoy actually played pretty good defense against Vanderbilt. Roberson was Danjel's matchup and he didn't have a field goal. He struggled some against Maten.

*****THAT'S ALL*****
