** UAB will be toughest challenge to date when you take in their team and being at their place.
** Excited about series against UAB. Thinks fans from both school appreciate it. Thinks it's a good rivalry game. Recognizes that UAB has been ahead of Auburn as a basketball program for many years.
** Last year, UAB was one of Auburn's best wins. They have losses to two Top 15 teams this season including Kansas.
** Have to handle their physicality, a hostile environment. Should have some good support there from Auburn fans too. Expects youth to show.
** First-year UAB coach Rob Ehsan has kept a lot of the same stuff from last season.
** T.J. Dunans is still trying to fins his role on this year's team. Been very effective at times, wouldn't have beaten Texas Tech without him. Dunans is a veteran and leader at the same time that Auburn is working some talented freshmen into the lineup. Has been inconsistent and struggled some, but is continuing to try to find his way.
** Similar with Bryce Brown. Hasn't shot ball well. In a good position at 5-1 where Dunans and Brown haven't played well yet.
** Chuck Person, Harris Adler and Chad Dollar are ready to be head coaches. The more success they have, the better chance they will have to move on to better opportunities.
** Has not lost one ounce of confidence in Brown's ability to shoot the ball. Is also a good defender and can be great at both. Needs to take better shots and not shoot his way out of slump.
** Opponent's second-chance points are an issue. UAB has a big man Chris Cokley is a load inside. Auburn not the most physical team so far. Area that needs to improve.
** Danjel Purifoy is 10th in the SEC in assists. Auburn has played a lot of zone early and have fed it into Purifoy inside. He can break down opponents off the dribble. Great matchup between him and William Lee Saturday.
** Really likes UAB team. Going to be great battle between them and Middle Tennessee in Conference USA.
** Important for Auburn to play games throughout the state.
