** Excited about double-header with volleyball team Friday.
** Learn something about team everyday. Half the time he goes home thinking about how much more they have to learn and half the time how far they have come.
** Pleased with energy and effort in the private scrimmage against Chattanooga. Montevallo runs totally different system. Can't take a Div. II team lightly. Hopes he gets a real good challenge in exhibition game.
** Wants team to continue to work together on defense and offense against Montevallo. Saw that against Chattanooga but different doing it at home in front of fans.
** Both point guards are good. Jared Harper is very smart and worth the price of admission. Harper has the edge on starting but both him and Ronnie Johnson will play.
** Johnson knows what being a good teammate is about. Came here to play in a faster system. Point guard position should be improved with both those guys. Pearl pleased with Johnson too.
** More differences at the center (5) position. Horace Spencer is more physical and defensive minded, flies around. LaRon Smith is more mature and has a better feel defensively. Will be challenged in the paint by Montevallo big man.
** Will play 10 in the rotation Friday. Played nine at Chattanooga because TJ Lang had back spasms. He's back now. Likes his depth. Can handle injuries or foul trouble.
