Bruce is set to talk to us to preview Mississippi State:
- Starts by saying that tomorrow is Jaylin Williams' 135th game breaking Frankie Sullivan's Auburn record.
- Called Miss State the third-best team to come to Neville Arena this season.
- "If you told me we had went to Mississippi State and were able to hold Tolu Smith to nine points and eight rebounds I would have told you we would have won." Mentioned that he hopes Auburn can replicate that effort
- Called Josh Hubbard the best freshman in the league and called him "Dalton Knecht dangerous" when he gets hot.
- "A tremendous opportunity and great challenge. In five of their seven SEC losses, they've been within nine points. They're able to control tempo because they don't go too fast." Said that they run good stuff and like to turn games like this into a "grinding affair."
- On Jaylin's return: "Jaylin felt fine. He's 100 percent, we wouldn't have played him if he wasn't."
- Mentioned that he liked how Johni Broome played at pf with Dylan Cardwell but also doesn't want to take minutes away from Jaylin
- "They're running really good actions. Coach Jans has always been known as a great defensive coach, and he still is... but offensively, I think they've found their groove. You've got that great inside-outside combination."
- Mentioned how tough of a matchup of Cam Matthews is and that they struggled with him last time.
- "I thought the guys were good yesterday. We knew Wednesday we were playing for an SEC Championship." Mentioned that they knew they needed to beat Tennessee to win the SEC title.
- "I've got the best staff in college basketball and they've been an integral part in what we do."
- Said that Lior Berman has been consistent all season and has played well on the road. Said the decision to play him over Chris Moore was an offensive decision.
