** Pearl thinks Texas A&M belongs in NCAA Tournament. Congratulates them for the win. "We respected them. We prepared."
** It's a short window preparing for two teams. We didn't have great execution of our gameplan. We had a couple of guys play well but we need more.
** Other than Jabari and Wendell, we shot poorly from 3, something that plagued us all year.
** Wen Green: They were leaving us open in the 1H, we've just got to hit the open shots. Our defense was good.
** Wen Green: It's hard to win in March. We've got to be ready to play. Like Coach Pearl said, you've got to throw the first punch. This will make us more hungry.
** Wen Green: They collapsed inside and gave us open shots. We passed the ball well, just didn't hit open shots.
** Jabari: They had a packed-in defense, forced us to make the extra pass, which we did pretty well. Didn't knock down the shots.
** Jabari: I'm 100 percent sure KD will bounce back from his game tonight.
** Pearl: They did a nice job with switching defenses. They double-teamed on the inside and we kicked it out. They did a good job on ball screen coverages.
** We didn't shoot very well from 2 either.
** Put Jabari and Walker more on perimeter in the 2nd half, rolled in guards. Wen and Jabari started finally making some shots.
** We're not that much better than TAMU but we out-played them this season. They made shots today.
** Pearl can't tell you all he said to team after game. He said it's OK to be disappointed but to put it in perspective, we're blessed. There's a lot of difficult things happening in the world. Be grateful for opportunity.
** KD didn't get himself to the foul line. He didn't take many bad shots. He just couldn't buy one.
** Talked to players about how many AU fans travelled here, took a bite out of budget to come here. Have to represent them better. Feel bad for them, feel like we let them down.
** It's easy to say A&M wanted it more. Give them credit. They played inspired. We wanted to win this championship and build momentum. Our guys are still hungry.
** The only way you change teams from backing up in the lane is by making shots. We're going to continue to see that.
