Bruce Pearl met with the media Friday to preview Saturday's game at Ole Miss. Here's a summary...
** Ole Miss will be a tough environment. They're playing really well and are undefeated at home. We played our best game of the year against Ole Miss and they didn't play great. Pearl expects them to be fired up to get revenge.
** The second game of a series is always tough because you play your cards. Now, it's about what adjustments can we make and what adjustments will they make.
** Johni Broome has turned it up in SEC play, which is great to see. He has the ability to turn it up. That's what you're hoping for from a couple of other players. He's shooting very good FT's, which says a lot about his focus and effort.
** This is one of the toughest stretches we've faced in the conference.
** Ole Miss has beaten really good teams at home. We could finish anywhere between 1-9 in SEC. If you're going to compete for the top, you've got to win games like this.
** We have to take care of the ball better and shoot better on the road. We've got to continue to improve our rebounding. If we don't improve in those, we're going to struggle on the road.
** Ole Miss' point guard Brandon Murray has been playing brilliantly since first AU-OM game.
** Not all of our offense goes through our point guards. Auburn's 3, 4 and 5 can have advantages on the court and get 4-5 assists.
** You can't control how well you can shoot. The one thing you can hold firm on his defense. Defense and rebounding win championships. That's what we focus on. We probably spend 75-80 percent of our scout and prep on how to defense. Yesterday, however, we spent more time on our offense.
*****THAT'S ALL*****
