Bruce Pearl is speaking to the media this morning to preview Tuesday night's game against Alabama A&M. Click refresh, will continue to update...

** Denver Jones is 12 points away from 1,000 for his career.

** We made progress over the weekend in N.Y. Two coaches that run complicated systems you have to gameplan for and we responded well to that.

** Alabama A&M plays in a real competitive league. Jackson State just beat Missouri. Alabama A&M is deep and well coached. We haven't been home much so we're going to try to make it a happy Thanksgiving.

** Aden Holloway showed some good quickness defensively. He was able to get through actions and be slippery off the ball. Tre Donaldson gets through things more physically. It's a good combination.

** We're running 5-out on offense, which is not something Pearl has done historically. Shooting it pretty well. It allows us to get guys shots. Need more guys to drive downhill.

** Grateful for Auburn for allowing us to play the kind of schedule we play. Going to N.Y. is a special place for basketball. Got to practice and play where the Nets play. Being on national T.V. three of four games is significant this time of year.

** Pearl felt like his system matched up well against both Notre Dame and St. Bonaventure defensively.

** Dylan Cardwell has changed his free throw mechanics. Nobody has shot more or worked more on his free throws than Dylan over the last few years. He's tried everything without a lot of success. He shortened his stroke a little bit now and there's less room for failure. Really pleased with his work.

** Things they've made progress on: Doing well valuing possessions and physicality, rebounding, playing aggressively with freedom on offense. Likes how he's developing his bench. Alabama A&M is going to play 12+ guys.

** Did a better job of defending without fouling in Brooklyn. Well officiated games.

** On Kick 6: Pearl was in Knoxville at a restaurant and watched game on T.V. there. He had no connection to Auburn at that time. Alabama is a big rival of Tennessee so I was probably rooting for Auburn. Little did I know, four months later I'd be here.

** Ira Bowman has great value as an assistant coach. He's a great coach and teacher and developer of talent. He did a great job with recruiting our two 2024 signees. On developing those recruiting relationships: "It's about trust." We don't make promises to kids. We don't call them all the time: "I don't want to date them. I want to coach them." Both kids are very talented. Played in competitive environments. Both will need to add strength to make the transition.

** Denver Jones tweaked is groin on Wednesday. He played through the pain and shot really well. He has real upside. He's working harder defensively than he has before, which disrupts his offense a bit right now. He's also adjusting to the offense not running through him.

** We're trying to build a resume with this schedule, this body of work. These games matter, the margins of wins/losses matter. Very pleased with the number of fans in Brooklyn. Peal is not afraid to go on the road because AU fans will travel. Those games count more.

*****THAT'S ALL*****
