Bruce Pearl is speaking to the media this afternoon to preview Saturday night's game against Ole Miss. Here's a summary...
** Ole Miss has four guys that are all on the top of their games. Three are seniors. You could make an argument they are all one of the better players in the league at their positions. OM has eight high-major transfers. Got a couple of guys eligible due to two-time transfer rule change.
** This is first time Auburn and Ole Miss have played as two ranked opponents. Worked really hard to achieve that.
** I hope our students remember Wes Flanigan and Allen Flanigan are both Auburn men and both graduated from AU.
** Johni Broome is good to go for tomorrow.
** Denver Jones was the leading scorer in CUSA. It's a quality conference. He's being asked to be an important piece on a deep roster. He's playing about 10 minutes less per game. He needed to improve on his defense. He's doing well on defense for us now. He's focused, tough and has a lot of desire. He's guarding players at this level better than anybody he guarded last year. He's doing what he needs to do for us to be good. Brakefield is another big guard he'll have to cover.
** OM has two bigs. They can block shots and protect the rim.
** OM is bigger and stronger than Vandy. Has shot blockers. Has four guys while Vandy had two.
** Al Flanigan is getting a lot more shots for Ole Miss. He's always been good at beating his primary defender. You can't stay in front of Al.
