JOHNI BROOME AND CHANCE WESTRY
- (Westry) - "It felt great. After watching a lot of film, I was ready to play in a game."
- (Westry) - "The game was a little slower than practice."
- (Broome) - On double-double: "It felt good to perform tonight. Basically I just wanted to help my team win tonight. I know I had a good matchup tonight. He's pretty talented."
- Broome on ankle: "I'm trying to get back to 100."
- On Wendell Green: (Westry) - "For me, it is his IQ. (Broome): "His ability to score. But I think he is an underrated defender in my eyes."
- Dominance on board: (Broome) - "We knew we had a big size advantage. Coming into the game, the first play we ran we wanted to get the ball inside."
- On shooting well: "It was important. We got Chance back and he added a lot of value to that. This game we hit nine 3's."
- On fast start: "We normally set the tone with our defense, but our offense was cooking early."
- On distribution of minutes: "Just everyone knowing their role. Having 11 guys, we are pretty deep." - Westry on being content with minutes.
- "When you get double-doubles, your team has a good chance of winning." - Broome
BRUCE PEARL
- With all the upsets in college basketball, especially with mid-major teams that can shoot it, we didn't let them beat us with the three.
- It was good to see shots go down. 11 players with double digit minutes. Shows our depth and balance.
- On getting Chance back out there: "I think Dr. Andrews did a good job. And the trainers have done a good job with the rehab ... He missed the entire fall ... I put him in a tough spot tonight playing three different positions."
- "We can play better. We can play harder and longer than we did."
- Wendell Green was the best player on the floor tonight.
- On Johni: "It's great. He was able to physically dominate Talford.
- "I thought we shared the ball. We only turned the ball over eight times."
- Mentions Tigers are playing 5 games in 12 days.
- "We were as excited as playing as they were." - on Winthrop. "I hope they have a good year. I hope they are in the tournament."
- "He is big and strong. He and Dylan were big and strong compared to Winthrop." "I liked his take to the basket. I like his finish with both hands."
That's it for BP.
